Ford announces the range-topping Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition. The customers looking to buy this can order it online or from a Ford EV-certified dealer. The Mustang Mach-E GT retails at USD 59,900, meanwhile, the Mach-E GT Performance is available from USD 64,900. Ford will position the Mustang Mach-E GT on the top of the existing range. This makes it the brand’s fastest and most powerful variant of the electric SUV. Ford mentions that this SUV will provide the best handling with a track-only driving mod named ‘Unbridled Extend’.
Ford’s Most Powerful Electric SUV
On the outside, there are few visual cues that make the Mustang Mach-E distinguishable from its siblings. The use of Carbonized Gray grille with illuminated pony badge, black door mirror caps, 20-inch alloy wheels with 245/45 tyres and red brake callipers act as the differentials. For the Mustang Mach-E, the Performance Edition, customers get added features such as Brembo brake callipers, Pirelli summer tyres and a set of Magneride dampers which improve the handling. The new Unbridled Extend driving mode, balances the power output to aid lap time consistency. This mode is made for track and closed road purposes only.
Engine And Powertrain Options
The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT gets a pair of electric motors which produces a combined output of 480 HP and 814 Nm of torque. The Performance Edition offers the same power but the torque output is increased to 860 Nm. The 0 to 100 kmph timing is 3.8 seconds for the Mach-E GT meanwhile the more powerful Performance edition does it in 3.5 seconds. As far as the driving range is concerned, Ford claims an EPA estimated 402 km for Mach-E GT. But, the Mustang Mach-E Performance Edition’s driving range is 378 km, which is lesser than Mach-E GT by 24 km.
Features And Equipment List
The electric car gets sports seats in Black Onyx ActiveX material with Miko inserts and copper metallic stitching. The B&O sound system with nine speakers and a subwoofer enhances the customer’s experience. Another highlighting feature of the Mustang Mach-E GT is the BlueCruise driving assistance system. This enables the driver to take off their hands from the steering wheel while driving. The initial batch of deliveries will begin in the early fall.
