Ather Energy has opened the first Ather Space on Bhandarkar road in Pune, Maharashtra. Ather Space is the brand’s showroom which allows Ather electric scooter enthusiasts to experience the futuristic scooter first hand. Aficionados can test ride the Ather 450x and Ather 450 Plus electric scooters from the abovementioned location and book their scooter of choice from the Ather Space. The Bengaluru-based brand started delivering Ather electric scooters in Pune in January 2021. The brand now has five Ather Space showrooms in major cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahemdabad, Mumbai and now in Pune.
Ather 450x
Powering the Ather 450x is a 6 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor capable of dishing out 26 Nm of torque which enable the scooter to sprint from 0-40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds. The powerful electric motor comes paired to a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that claims to return a range of 116 km on the (Indian Drive Cycle) but the true range differs and is close to 85 km in city conditions. The Ather 450x takes 3 hours and 35 minutes to achieve an 80% state of charge and 0-100% (Home Charging) is achieved in 5 hours 45 minutes. The charging speed is 15 km in 10 minutes at a fast charger.
Ather 450 Plus
The Ather 450 Plus is slightly less powerful and comes with a 5.4 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor which churns out 22 Nm of torque that is capable of propelling the e-scooter from 0-40 kmph in 3.9 seconds and the slightly smaller battery pack returns a true range of 70 km. The charging speed on the 450 Plus is also slightly slower than the 450x and at the fast charger the Ather 450 Plus charges at the rate of 10 km in 10 minutes.
Ather Megafactory
The Indian-origin technology brand has a 123,000 square feet Mega-Factory is located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu where the brand has the capability of 90% localisation which includes the Battery Pack making both the Ather 450x and the Ather 450 Plus electric scooters true Made in India products. Ather Energy has the capacity to produce 110,000 units per annum as well as 120,000 battery packs per year.
