80 new Volvo 8400 city buses for Hyderabad

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has recently added 80 new Volvo 8400 city buses to its fleet in Hyderabad.

Prior to this order, Hyderabad only had 8 such city buses and the count now moves up to 88. These buses are expected to boost connectivity within the city and make commuting comfortable. Low entry will help in ingress and egress, also suiting the elderly.

The new route for the buses will connect Hyderabad and Secunderabad and will also focus on enhancing connectivity to the IT hub.

The Volvo 8400 is a rear engined city bus with a 7.0L, 6-cylinder motor producing 290 BHP of power and a massive 1,200 Nm of torque.

Volvo city buses are now operational in 16 cities across India, and are looking to increase this figure in the near future.
