Hero MotoCorp has announced that the company has delivered 751 Hero Glamour BS6 motorcycles to the Karnataka State Police department, following the brand’s successful partnership with state police departments across India. The Hero Glamour motorcycles were flagged off by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka and the Hon’ble Home Minister of Karnataka from Vidhan Soudha in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Recently, Hero MotoCorp upgraded the Glamour to conform to BS6 emission standards and the motorcycle is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 10.73 BHP of power and 10.6 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In addition to the powerful and efficient motor, the Glamour BS6 also comes with i3S (idle Start Stop System) along with Auto Sail technology. The new Glamour BS6 is also equipped with a Programmed Fuel Injection system with XSens technology that claims to extract 19% more power from the motor than the first-generation Glamour.
The Hero Glamour BS6 comes with a diamond type chassis that rides on conventional telescopic front forks with 120mm of travel and 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers with 81mm of travel on the rear. For braking power, the Glamour BS6 comes with 240mm single hydraulically operated front disc brakes and a 130mm mechanically operated internally expanding drum brake on the rear. The front drum brake option is also available on the entry-level trims.
The Hero Glamour BS6 is offered in four variants – Self Start Drum Brake Alloy Wheel priced at INR 72,900 ex-showroom, Bengaluru, Self Start Disc Brake Alloy Wheel priced at INR 76,400 ex-showroom Bengaluru, Blaze Edition Self Start Drum Brake Alloy Wheel priced at INR 74,100 ex-showroom, Bengaluru, and the Blaze Edition Self Start Disc Brake Alloy Wheel priced at INR 77,600 ex-showroom, Bengaluru.
The Blaze edition was launched recently which is offered in a new Matt Vernier Grey Colour and comes with a new USB charging feature. The new Blaze Edition comes with a Grey primer colour on body parts complemented by contrasting Funk-Lime Yellow graphics. In the standard avatar, the Glamour BS6 is offered in Sports Red, Candy Red, Techno Blue and Tornado Grey.
