Ford has issued a recall for the once popular EcoSport compact-SUV. The car got a facelift a few months back, and close to 7,249 cars have been recalled because they might have a problem with the powertrain.
The brand reveals that the recall has been issued so that they can update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software of the EcoSport. Only the petrol-powered EcoSport is subject to this recall. It is to be noted, that the EcoSport with this facelift came with a new engine, and this is the situation.
Ford EcoSport cars built between November 2017 – March 2018 are affected by this problem. The faulty PCM might be causing the battery to drain faster and also lead to sudden deceleration. Customers can check if their EcoSport has been affected by entering their cars VIN number on the Ford website.
