720 Hp / 770 Nm Ferrari F8 Tributo launched in India at INR 4.02 Crore

Italian super manufacturer, Ferrari has launched the Ferrari F8 Tributo in India at the price of INR 4.02 Crore ex-showroom, Delhi. The Ferrari F8 Tribute was unveiled by Select Cars, the official Ferrari importer in New Dehli, in a private photography session held at the Ferrari showroom. The new mid-rear-engined sports car comes with what the brand claims as the most powerful V8 engine ever produced. The Ferrari F8 Tributo replaces the Ferrari 488 GTB in the brand’s portfolio and its name pays homage to the most powerful V8 engine developed in the Prancing Horse brand’s history.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo is powered by a 3.9-litre 90-degree, V-8-Cylinder turbocharged with specific intake plenums and manifolds with optimised fluid dynamics that help the engine punch out 720 Hp of power at 8,000 RPM with 185 Hp/litre of specific power. The engine also produces 770 Nm of torque and the performance figures are achieved from Formula1 derived titanium connecting rods and lightening solutions made to the rotating masses.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo engine claims to deliver zero turbo lag as the F8 Tributo is equipped with turbo rev sensors developed in the 488 Challenge, to maximise the efficiency of the turbochargers based on the demand for power from the pedal. The turbocharged engine also features special Inconel manifolds and an exhaust layout that is completely modified up to the terminals resulting in unique exhaust note and features both intensity and sound quality.

In terms of design and styling, the Ferrari F8 Tributo features L-shaped sleek and compact LED headlamps, an angular front apron with two splitters at each end, flared wheel arches, side sills, wing mirrors, aero ducts on the front, bonnet and behind the doors, sharply raked rear with a transparent engine cover with louvres, quad rounded tail lamp units, dual exhaust pipes, body integrated spoiler etc.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo also features an advanced aerodynamics package which features an S-Duct on the front, an innovative aerodynamic solution derived from the brand’s Formula1 experience and accounts for 15% of the increase in the overall downforce. The S-Duct draws air from the front apron and channels it through specially calibrated sections, deflecting the air upwards over the car from the special duct in the bonnet creating downforce on the front axle.

The F8 Tributo also features a rear spoiler to create upwash which accounts for 25% of the increase in downforce three turning vanes inside the blown spoiler recompress the flow towards the wake of the car, reducing drag by 2% and compensating for the knock-on effect. In addition, the F8 Tributo also features side air intakes that channel air and reduce the temperature of the air entering the plenum by 15-degrees, improving power.

On the inside, the Ferrari F8 Tributo features driver-focused controls, a classic Ferrari instruments console with a Yellow dial central rev-counter, new-generation steering wheel with LED shift lights, rounded air vents in aluminium and optionally in Carbon-Fibre, aluminium sail panel supporting the central satellite on the dashboard, an optional 7-inch touchscreen on the passenger-side, sports seats etc.
