7-seater MG Hector Plus coming to India in January 2021

MG Motor India has announced that the brand will be launching the much-anticipated 7-seater in the Indian market the MG Hector Plus 7-seater version in January 2021. The MG Hector Plus 7-seater will be based on the Hector Plus which is currently available as a 6-seater variant which comes with captain seats in the second row. The 7-seater variant will have a bench seat in the second row allowing accommodation for three passengers. With the addition of the MG Hector Plus 7-Seater, the Hector portfolio now has a 5-seater (Hector), 6-Seater (Hector Plus) and 7-Seater (Hector Plus 7-seater) to cater to the varying demands of the customer. 

The MG Hector 7-seater is expected to retain most features from the current Hector Plus which includes LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, the same butch SUV looks that are on the current car and large alloy wheels. In terms of dimensions, the MG Hector Plus 7-seater is expected to remain similar to the 6-seater model. 

On the interiors the MG Hector Plus 7-Seater is expected to carry over the features from the 6-seater model which comes with dual-tone interiors, a large 26.4-cm vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system integrated Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 55 connected features and internet connectivity, Over-The-Air updates, premium Infinity sound system, a 17.78-cm coloured multi-information display, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, multi-colour ambient lighting, powered tailgate with smart swipe opening feature and a dual-pane electrically operated panoramic sunroof.

In the engine department, the MG Hector 7-Seater is expected to use the same BS6 compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol motor that produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque paired to a DCT gearbox, a petrol-hybrid option with a Belt Starter Generator matched to a 6-speed manual transmission and a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine that produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox for diesel SUV aficionados. 

The brand has also announced that the company will be making price revisions across its product range in view of the miscellaneous cost increase. The price hike will be in the range of up to 3%, depending on the model and will be effective from 1st January 2021.
