BMW India has announced that the pre-bookings for the new BMW i5 M60 xDrive are now open. The first-ever all-electric BMW i5 can now be booked from BMW Dealerships in India as well as the company’s dedicated website. Through the bookings page, customers can also view the EV in 360-degrees and also make a secure online payment to book the car.
In addition to this, the brand also announced that the deliveries will commence on a first-come-first-serve basis starting May 2024. BMW India is also offering BMW Financial Services in the booking phase itself to help customers acquire the i5 M60 xDrive with ease.
The all-electric sedan is the first-ever BMW car to combine the power of BMW M and the innovation of BMW i. Powering the BMW i5 M60 xDrive is an electric motor with an output of up to 442 kW/601 Hp. The EV features M performance as well as M specific design features. The electric system is capable of generating 820 Nm of torque and enables the BMW i5 M60 xDrive to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The EV is also capable of delivering a WLTP range of up to 516 km on a single charge.
BMW will be bringing the i5 M60 xDrive via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. Furthermor, the brand announced that the all-electric performance sedan will be available in limited quantities only. BMW’s all-electric portfolio also includes the BMW i7, BMW iX, BMW i4, BMW iX1 and Mini SE.
Spyshots also suggest that the brand could be gearing up to introduce the much-popular 5-Series back in the Indian market. The new-generation BMW 5-Series made its debut in the International market in 2023 and the car is likely to go on sale in India soon. However, the launch timeline is still scarce.
