6-seater Kia Carnival MPV launched at INR 28.95 lakh

Korean automotive giant Kia has discreetly launched the 6-seater version of its updated 2021 Carnival MPV for the Indian market. With a price tag of INR 28.95 lakh, the new version replaces the 9-seater version of the MPV. Before introducing this variant, Kia sold the Carnival MPV in 3 seating configurations – 7,8 and 9. Due to the lack of demand for the 9-seater variant in India, Kia has decided to drop it entirely.

2021 Kia Carnival MPV: Design Details

Kia offers the new updated Carnival MPV in 4 variants: Premium, Prestige, Limousine, and Limousine Plus. Prior to the introduction of the 6-seater version, Kia sold the 9-seater version in the mid-sped Prestige trim. The 2021 updated Carnival features the new redesigned ‘Kia’ logo, LED headlamps, and taillights, along with LED fog lamps. Along with 18-inch Crystal Cut alloy wheels, the Carnival sports a powered tailgate and 3 exterior colour options. These include Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl, and Steel Silver.

2021 Kia Carnival MPV: Interior Details and Features 

Kia has ensured to enhance the luxury quotient of the Carnival by introducing the 6-seater version with individual captain seats. Offered on the 2nd and 3rd row, the Carnival now sports a larger boot capacity than the 7-and 8-seater counterparts. With a boot space of 540-litres, the Carnival’s space is expandable to 2759-litres upon folding the 2nd and 3rd rows.

For the interior, Kia offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. Along with voice recognition, the MPV features a dual sunroof, an updated air purifier system, and a reverse parking camera. Other notable features include steering mounted controls, engine start/stop button, front and rear parking sensors, and tri-zone automatic AC.

2021 Kia Carnival MPV: Technical Specifications 

Kia offers the Carnival MPV with a single 2.2-litre diesel engine which produces 200 PS and 440 Nm. Paired to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, the MPV does not receive a petrol engine option. The Carnival is 5115mm in length, 1985mm wide, 1740mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 3060mm. The MPV sports a 60-litre fuel tank with disc brakes on all four wheels and sends power through the rear wheels.
