5th Gen Honda City gets Google Assistant

Honda has introduced the new Google Assistant technology on the 5th generation Honda City in India. The feature is an extended version of the integrated Connected technology already offered in the 5th generation City, Honda Connect. Also, the brand already offers Amazon Alexa integration which comes with Alexa Remote capability. The brand also revealed that the Honda Connect platform has been further enhanced and upgraded during this update. The connected platform now comes with 4 new functionalities and all 36 features deliver enhanced safety, convenience and peace of mind to its customers.

Honda Action on Google

The new Honda Action on Google will give the car the capability to function with “OK Google.” Customers will be able to execute 10 voice-enabled features using Honda Action on Google. The function can take action using Google Assistant-enabled devices such as Google Nest Speakers, Android phones, etc. The customer can also use the 10 features with text-based command functionality of Google.

Honda Connect Additional Features

In addition to the Honda Action on Google, Honda has also upgraded the Honda Connect with new functions. These include functions such as Fuel Log Analysis, Cost of Maintenance Analysis, Valet Alert, etc. The Honda Connect goes hand in hand with the new-generation customer’s hyperactive lifestyle and growing interaction with advanced technology. The Honda Connect provides a seamless connection between, customer, car, his family and Honda.

Key Functionalities of Honda Action on Google

Using Honda Action on Google customers can Ok Google to “ask Honda to turn on my car’s AC and set temperature”, remotely. Customers can also remotely lock or unlock the doors of the vehicle. The customer can also ask Honda to check the car’s status. Other useful functions include Indirect Tyre Deflation Status, Battery Health Status, and Fuel Status.

Users can also use functions like Find my Car that honks and blinks the turn indicators and Locate My Car which can pinpoint the location of the vehicle on the map. Customers can also open the boot remotely via voice command and also set a Time Fence Alert to restrict car access during certain times. Using Action on Google customer’s are also able to check the Service History, Check the validity of PUC, RSA and Insurance.
