Honda launched the 7-seater Mobilio MPV in India a couple of days back. The car has been priced starting at Rs. 6.49 lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi).
However, Honda has already received over 5,800 bookings for the MPV even before the official launch. Deliveries of the Mobilio as expected to begin soon, and for these 5,800 pre-launch bookings, Honda has a set a target of end of next month, for the cars to be delivered to customers. The RS variant of the Mobilio will hit the streets only in September though, so those who have booked this particular variant, or wish to purchase it, will have to wait a little longer.
The Mobilio is available in two engine options, the 1.5L i-VTEC petrol and the 1.5L i-DTEC diesel. Honda is betting big on the Mobilio as expect it to help them grab the market share from their competitors. The MPV is already having a successful run in Indonesia, where it was launched before, and Honda expects the same story to unfold here in India.
Priced higher than the Maruti Ertiga, the Honda Mobilio slots in below the larger MPV segment benchmark, the Toyota Innova.
Do you think Honda with the list of features and equipment, justifies the price difference compared to the Maruti Ertiga?
