With EV sales reaching new highs in 2022, most companies are reporting positive growth. On this front, Tata Motors has in a few short years grown its EV portfolio significantly. With its efforts, Tata Motors has reached a major milestone. The auto manufacturer recently delivered its 50,000th EV. Tata Nexon EV contributes majorly to Tata Motors’ EV sales volume.
Interestingly enough Tata Motors is yet to launch an electric car built from the ground up. For now, it has updated its current portfolio by introducing electric variants in a timely fashion. Nexon EV has been a very successful product ever since it hit the roads. It has nothing to prove and dominates as the top-selling EV in India. Tata Tigor EV launched recently is too doing pretty well in terms of sales.
The most recent introduction in the form of the Tata Tiago EV too looks quite exciting. With these products Tata Motors has built its EV portfolio across segments, and price points. Its smaller car Punch too will see its electric avatar soon. The launch will happen sometime later in 2023.
Tata Motors is aggressively expanding its EV network. It continues to find its place in newer domestic markets to make electric cars a part of the personal mobility ecosystem. The Tiago EV, Tata Motor’s most recent launch has already garnered 20k bookings. And deliveries will begin from January 2023. As per reports, Electric cars will have a share of 30 per cent by 2030. competed in the years to come. EV sales penetration for passenger cars is expected at 30 per cent by 2030. In fact, the central government too is favouring electric mobility. Hence we are witnessing a slew of EV-centric policies aimed at propelling their sales.
