Renault Kiger has achieved the 50,000 product milestone in India. This is quite an achievement for the brand. To commemorate this occasion, Renault has introduced a new Stealth Black exterior colour in the Kiger range. This specific colour shade is only available with the RXT(0) and RXZ variants in both engine options. With the growing demand for SUVs, Kiger offers a well-packed value-for-money proposition for its customers. Despite the ongoing production woes due to the semiconductor shortage, the 50,000 production figure is quite an achievement. With the sales volume rising high, India is among Renault’s top five global markets. Renault is also very positive about Kiger’s tremendous customer response and aims to add more sales volume in the future.
Powering the compact SUV are two engine options – 1.0L Energy Engine in MT EASY-R AMT transmissions and 1.0L Turbo in MT and X-TRONIC CVT transmissions. With these multiple engine and powertrain options, Renault is also able to target a larger audience. To further spice up things, Renault Kiger also gets a long list of features. The new Renault Kiger MY22 Turbo features some subtle exterior updates as well. The SUV now benefits from New Tailgate Chrome Insert, Front Skid Plate, Turbo Door Decals, and 16-inch Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels.
In terms of safety, Kiger scores very highly. Four airbags along with seat belts with pre-tensioner and load-limiter, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors ensure full safety while driving on the road. Other safety features include impact sensing door unlock, speed-sensing door lock, 60/40 split rear row seat, and ISOFIX anchorage for a child seat. Furthermore, the Kiger also gets a 4-Star Safety Rating for adult occupant safety by Global NCAP.
Prices start at INR 5,99,000 (ex-showroom) for the RXE 1.0-L Energy trim and top out at INR 10,62,400 (ex-showroom) for the RXZ-Tronic (CVT) 1.0-L Turbo Dual Tone trim.
