In an initiative towards sustainable mobility in the shared, or rather rental car industry; Tata Motors has joined hands with Zoomcar. Tata Motors will provide Zoomcar with 500 units of their Tata Tigor EV (electric vehicle) to be placed as rental cars in the Pune region. This will allow multiple car rental customers to even get a taste of electric cars, before considering to buy them.
Of course, the primary reason why one might reach out to Zoomcar is for their rental car need, but I also see customers trying out the Tigor EV over here as a short tem car (long term test drive) before deciding if an electric vehicle suits their needs. The first batch of Tigor EVs was flagged off from Concorde Motors in Baner, Pune under the Zoomcar wing.
Zero emissions and sustainable mobility will surely have a halo effect even for those who rent and drive these cars for their personal needs.
Zoomcar wants to add more EVs to their fleet in the near future.
