JSW-MG Motor India is set to go on a product offensive and expand its footprint in the Indian automotive market with the launch of five new models by the end of 2025. This ambitious plan, confirmed by Rajeev Chaba, President & Managing Director of MG Motor India, aims to cater to a diverse range of customers, from budget-conscious buyers to those seeking premium offerings.
1. MG Cloud EV
The first model expected to hit the Indian roads is the MG Cloud EV, a crossover positioned in the INE 10-20 lakh segment. Slated for a launch around September-October 2024, the Cloud EV has already been spotted testing in India. This model is anticipated to be a game-changer in the electric vehicle (EV) market, offering a blend of affordability and advanced technology.
2. MG Binguo
Following the Cloud EV, MG plans to introduce the Binguo, a small electric hatchback. The Binguo shares its platform with the MG Comet EV and is designed to cater to urban commuters looking for a compact, eco-friendly vehicle. JSW MG Motor India has already filed a patent for this model, indicating its readiness for the Indian market.
3. New D-Segment SUV
MG is also planning to launch a new D-segment SUV, potentially based on the Wuling Starlight S. This SUV will be positioned alongside the Gloster and is expected to come with both plug-in hybrid and pure electric powertrains. 4. MG Cyberster
