4 signs that you should change your tyres

Tyres are one of the most important component of any vehicle to make it derivable on roads. But, with excessive usage or bad maintenance, tyres tend to wear out and sometimes they wear out too soon before you even know. So, below are 4 signs that can help you deciding that you need new tyres.

1. If tyre is worn out to legal limit

Each set of tyres that are approved from agencies, come, with a set of legal limit to which they can be used. These tyre limiters are present in between of treads in a tyre. The limit of depth allowed by government is 1.6mm to which you must change your tyre. We advice you to keep checking the health and depth of tyre properly once a month and ensure you change before this limit is achieved.

A tyre with lost out tread can be dangerous in any temperature and surface, please play smart for your safety.

2. If tyre shows signs of aging

Tyres have no predictable life. It does’t matter when the tyres were made. Tyres age even when not used, or if only used occasionally.  There are many factors that will affect the life of the tyre such as temperature, maintenance, conditions of storage and use, load, speed, pressure as well as driving style. These will have a great impact on the length of service life you can expect from your tyres. Pay regular attention to tyres and keep an eye over the health of the tyre. Ensure that the tyre doesn’t show signs such as cracking of surface or deformation etc.

3. If tyre is damaged

Tyres do get damaged, especially, in a country like ours. Potholes, uneven roads, bad patches and many a times you get to off-road your vehicle. All such factors result into bad health of tyre and can damage your tyres easily. Any visible perforation, cut or deformation must be checked thoroughly by a tyre professional. Only they can tell you whether the tyre can be repaired or has to be changed. Never use damaged tyres or tyres that have run flat or at very low pressures unless they have been thoroughly examined internally and externally by a tyre professional. Inspection by a professional is absolutely necessary because internal damage is not visible while the tyre is mounted; only then can a decision be made as to whether the tyre can be out back into service.

4. If tyre not suited for your vehicle

For best all-around performance, the same type of tyre should be used in all four wheel positions. Tyres of different sizes, constructions, and stages of wear may affect vehicle handling and stability. In addition, there may be specific recommendations by vehicle or tyre manufacturers which may apply to your vehicle.

Do not mix different type of tyres (cross rotation or bias-plied) like radials and non-radials together. Such mixing of tyres can lead to misbehaving with the dynamics of vehicle and hence cause early or sudden wear and tear of tyre, depending upon the type of vehicle. Avoid that.

Try following all the above mentioned steps on a regular basis and believe us, it’s not hard to maintain them and you would definitely be pleased in future by your wallet friendly vehicle!
