As a part of its Custom World initiative, Royal Enfield has unveiled four distinctly unique custom builds on its new Classic 350. The brand unveiled them simultaneously across four locations – Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. These custom bikes are built by some of India’s most renowned and leading custom builders. These include – Rajputana Custom Motorcycles, Old Delhi Motorcycles Co., Neev Motorcycles and MS Customs. The custom motorcycles are meticulously crafted and re-built to showcase the timeless elegance of the Classic, interpreted through the eyes of these motorcycle custom artists.
Royal Enfield Custom World serves as a platform to inspire and foster creativity amongst motorcyclists. The platform brings together notable motorcycle artists and craftsmen across the world to express their individuality. Royal Enfield motorcycles’ simple and uncomplicated design serves as the perfect base for exploring the bounds of what a bike can be. Over the last six years, the brand has collaborated with some of the most famous custom builders in India, Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe and the Americas. So far, they have built over 80 custom motorcycles, with many more to come.
The custom motorcycle reflects the history of the “Timeless Classic” motorcycles by Royal Enfield. Each custom part on this build is hand-built. It takes inspiration from Royal Enfield motorcycles of different eras. Rajputana Customs has detailed and blended it uniquely, from the old-school girder suspension to front and rear drum brakes. Other highlights include leather seats, velocity stacks and also an all-new fuel tank. It definitely appeals to the ever-growing community of Royal Enfield enthusiasts.
The founder of Rajputana Custom Motorcycles, Vijay Singh Ajairajpura, customised his first-ever motorcycle in his small garage. He did it over a decade ago. From then till now, its workshop has developed into a hyper-creative space. From ideation to execution, it all takes place under one roof.
Divine is a custom-built bobber motorcycle. It adorns a matte black colour scheme accentuated by the gold pin-striping. Furthermore, it also gets a gold leaf work on the tank. The Divine sports a lowered stance than the standard Classic 350. The custom-build bobber also sports a host of custom parts. These include a custom swing arm, tank and mudguards. It also gets a hand-stitched leather seat. There are also many machined and engraved brass embellishments. The motorcycle rides on thick 5″x16″ balloon tyres which completes the overall look.
Navneet Suri, a motorcycle fanatic and automotive engineer, founded Neev Motorcycles. The custom motorcycle shop is based out of New Delhi. Neev Motorcycles have been creating bespoke hand-built custom motorcycles since 2015.
The Dilli flaunts a metaphoric build that salutes the ever-evolving spirit of Delhi. It is also an ode to the soul of Royal Enfield and the spirit of Delhi. The resto builder company says it is about the tough love of the Ustads and the grudging reverence of the Shagirds. The build is a humble expression of gratitude towards all those who inspired Old Delhi Motorcycles Co.
Old Delhi Motorcycles was founded in 2011. It is an ode to the people who have given their lives to restoring and putting a soul into motorcycles. They have now become synonymous with one of India’s best resto builders. Old Delhi Motorcycles Co. have crafted many custom motorcycles for Indian and also global clients.
The custom-build from MS Customs reflects the theme of ‘Urban Roadster’. The customised new Classic 350 gets a 1960s-inspired headlight dome. Furthermore, it also gets a custom tank, swing arm, tyres and wheels. The twin seats have also been handcrafted. Thus it gives it a more personalised look.
Mr Lalmalsawma (MSa) founded MS Customs in 2008. He is an automobile engineer and an expert in building motorcycles of all genres. MS Customs is located in Aizwal, Mizoram. It is a one-man show and has managed to build multiple motorcycles in the past two decades. This is despite the scarcity of raw materials, specialised tools, components and accessories. This is due to the hurdles posed by the state’s isolation from mainland India.
