TVS Motor Company has announced that the brand has handed over 25 units of the Apache RTR 160 to the Bengaluru City Police department. The motorcycles were handed over in presence of the Hon’ble Home Minister of Karnataka, the Bengaluru Commissioner of Police and Head of Marketing, Premium Motorcycles, TVS Motor Company among other dignitaries. The motorcycles have been delivered as TVS Motor Company’s commitment towards the support of front-line workers.
The TVS Apache RTR 160 is powered by a BS6 emission-compliant 159.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled 4-stroke 2-Valve engine that produces 15.53 PS of power and 13.9 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed gearbox. The powerful motor will help the Bengaluru City Police keep the streets safe by curbing anti-social elements to escape the arm of the law.
The Apache RTR 160 features a race-derived Double Cradle Synchro STIFF frame that rides on conventional telescopic front forks the offer 105mm of wheel travel, a twin monotube inverted gas-filled shock absorber (MIG) with spring-assist on the rear for comfort. The braking power comes from a single 270mm dia petal disc on the front with 130mm dia drum or the option of a 200mm dia petal disc on the rear equipped with a single-channel ABS for safety.
In terms of design, the Apache RTR 160 features a multi-reflector headlamp with aerodynamic shrouds, a small smoked flyscreen, tank extension fairing, a sharp belly cowl, ergonomically designed scooped seat, clip-on handlebars and a sleek tailpiece with LED taillights. The BS6 Apache RTR 160 with the rear drum brake is priced at INR 100,550 ex-showroom, Delhi and the BS6 Apache RTR 160 with rear disc brake is priced at INR 103,550 ex-showroom, Delhi. The front disc brake, self start and alloy wheels are standard with this motorcycle.
In other news, Hero MotoCorp also announced that the brand has delivered 751 Hero MotoCorp Glamour 125cc motorcycle to the Government of Karnataka for the Karnataka State Police Department.
