Making a world premiere at the EICMA 2018 show in Milan, Ducati has revealed their most powerful motorcycle which is street legal. The Panigale v4 R is now soon going to be in showrooms worldwide and will become the brands new flagship street supersport model.
The V4 R takes a lot of inspiration from MotoGP. The bike gets changes to the engine, suspension, fairing, aerodynamics and carbon fibre body work developed by Ducati Corse and Ducati Style Centre. The bike is now more stable, comes with a plethora of electronic aids and the best of looks of course.
Ducati claims that the Panigale V4 R is a road-legal WSBK category motorcycle.
Powering the bike is a 998cc, Desmosedici Stradale, V4 motor which now comply with the WSBK rules, to actually, the engine capacity has gone down. This new motor is built to deliver more power and low-rev pulling abilities. The engine components have also resulted in overall weight reduction by 2 kg and the bike now has a kerb weight of 193 kg. The engine produces 221 HP of power @ 15250 RPM and with the Ducati Performance Exhaust from Akrapovic, this peak power jumps to 234 HP @ 15500 RPM.
What many would notice is that the Panigale V4 R gets winglets similar to the MotoGP Ducati motorcycles. Additional electronics include pit limiter, lap timer and other wizardry like cornering ABS, traction control, slide control, wheelie control, launch control, quickshifter, engine braking control, Ohlins adjustable suspension, etc.
