Tata Motors has launched the 2025 Tata Tiago NRG, in India. The updated model comes with subtle design changes, additional features, and a revised price range starting at INR 7.2 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiago NRG continues to cater to buyers seeking a sporty and adventurous alternative to the standard Tiago hatchback.
The 2025 Tiago NRG features minor exterior updates, including redesigned front and rear bumpers with matte black cladding and silver skid plates. The side profile is enhanced with thick black body cladding, roof rails, and an infinity black roof. At the rear, the tailgate sports an NRG badge and a shark-fin antenna, adding to its rugged appeal.
Inside, the Tiago NRG boasts an all-black charcoal-themed cabin. The updated model includes a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include keyless entry, a push start-stop button, auto-folding ORVMs, and steering-mounted controls. Safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), and a rear parking camera are standard.
Mechanically, the Tiago NRG remains unchanged. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. The CNG variant delivers 73 PS and 95 Nm of torque. Both powertrains are available with a 5-speed manual or an automated manual transmission (AMT). Notably, the CNG variant now offers an AMT option, providing more flexibility for buyers.
The Tiago NRG is available in the top-spec XZ trim, with prices ranging from INR 7.2 lakh for the petrol manual variant to INR 8.75 lakh for the CNG AMT variant. While the Tiago NRG has no direct rivals, it competes with higher variants of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Maruti Wagon R in terms of pricing.
The 2025 Tata Tiago NRG brings meaningful updates that enhance its appeal without altering its core characteristics. The addition of an AMT option for the CNG variant is a welcome move, catering to a broader audience. With its rugged design and practical features, the Tiago NRG continues to stand out in the cross-hatch segment.
