Lotus Cars has launched its latest hyper-GT, the Lotus Emeya, in India at a price of INR 3,22,31,748 (ex-showroom). The Emeya is an all-electric grand tourer that combines luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology.
The Emeya is powered by a 102 kWh battery pack that offers a range of up to 610 km on a single charge. It features permanent synchronous motors on each axle, delivering a combined power output of 603 hp. The Emeya can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.15 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
The Emeya’s design is sleek and modern, with twin horizontally oriented headlights and a coupe body style. The interior is luxurious, featuring a dual-tone layout, ventilated seats, and a 30-inch dual-screen setup with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety features include up to seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite.
Lotus has introduced the Emeya in three variants: Emeya, Emeya S, and Emeya R. The Emeya R is the performance-oriented variant, offering 905 hp and a 0-100 km/h time of 2.78 seconds. The Emeya R also has a top speed of 256 km/h.
The Lotus Emeya faces limited direct competition in the Indian market, as it is one of the few all-electric grand tourers available. Its closest rivals include high-performance electric vehicles like the Porsche Taycan, which is also known for its luxury and performance. However, the Emeya stands out with its unique design, advanced technology, and impressive range, making it a distinctive option for luxury electric vehicle enthusiasts in India.
The launch of the Emeya in India is part of Lotus’ strategy to expand its presence in the luxury electric vehicle market. The Emeya joins the Eletre electric SUV in Lotus’ lineup, showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainable and high-performance vehicles.
The Lotus Emeya is a remarkable addition to the luxury electric vehicle segment in India. Its combination of performance, range, and luxury features makes it an attractive option for enthusiasts and eco-conscious buyers alike.
