2025 KTM 390 Adventure looks production-ready already

Written by Nizam Shaikh

The mid-size adventure segment in India is booming and why not? You can not only properly use the power in the city but also on the highway. Also, the malleable ADVs offer riders long distance touring with comfort, without the anxiety of bad roads. Mid-size ADVs are not only pliable on bad city roads but riders can also use them for occasional off-roading and highways that lead to those trails. One such popular ADV in India is the KTM 390 Adventure. Now, the good news that the Dakar dominating brand is upgrading the motorcycle, as seen in spy shots.

2025 KTM 390 Adventure – Spyshots

According to spy shots, the next-generation KTM 390 Adventure will come with an all-new chassis and engine. The brand is also likely to upgrade the suspension and wheels of the new bike. Spyshots show larger front and rear wheels. Expect the front to come with a 21-inch rim compared to the 19-inch which is currently sold. The rear is also likely to be upsized from the current 17-inch to a larger 18-incher. Also, the brand is likely to offer a spoke-rim setup. Although we are not sure if this comes as standard or as an optional kit.

2025 KTM 390 Adventure – Technical Bits

The spy shots of the near-production ready model also reveals that the new bike is likely to come with a new chassis and engine. The engine is likely to be the latest LC4C (Liquid Cooled 4-valve Compact) unit. The 44hp, 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit currently serves as the powerhouse on the new KTM 390 Duke. However the subframe could be specifically designed for the 390 Adventure. Also, the front brake unit appears to be a 2-piston axial unit as opposed to a four-piston radial calliper that does duty on the current bike. But the final production bike could come with a radial calliper.

2025 KTM 390 Adventure – Design and Features

Design wise, the motorcycle appears to borrow cues from KTM’s 450 Rally machines that are preponderant in the gruesome Dakar Rally. Spyshots suggest a stacked twin projector LED headlamp and a larger taller more upright windscreen.

The tail also appears sleeker than the current model and the tank gets proper cowling enclosing the sides of the bike. Also a new set of knuckle guards that could be sturdier than the current make appearance in the spy shots. The upside down forks also get gravel protectors for the inner tubes to prevent pitting.

The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure is also likely to come with the new full-colour TFT screen. The brand is also likely to offer a full suite of electronics such as Traction Control, Cornering ABS, Quick Shifter, Navigation and more.

2025 KTM 390 Adventure – Launch and Competition

KTM is likely to introduce the new 390 Adventure in 2025. Upon launch the motorcycle will primarily compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the BMW G310 GS in the Indian market. Passively the bike also competes with bigger bikes such as the Honda CB500X, Kawasaki Versys 650 and Suzuki V Storm 650.

More details are likely to be revealed soon so stay tuned.
