2025 KTM 390 Adventure continues extensive road testing

KTM is planning to upgrade the 390 Adventure in the Indian market. The brand is currently road testing the updated 390 Adventure on Indian roads and is likely to debut the motorcycle by the end of this year or early next year. The motorcycle is likely to come with substantial changes not only on design front but also in terms of its chassis, suspension and engine.

KTM 390 Adventure – Design

According to spy shots, in the new avatar, the KTM 390 Adventure is likely to be more off-road centric. Spy shots reveal a set of spoked rims and a Dakar style fairing. Spy shots also reveal a stacked twin projector headlamps setup on the test mule as well as a large windscreen. In addition to this, the bike also appears to have a high mount flying fender which, similar to KTMs off-roaders.

The ADV also appears to get a single piece seat instead of the dual split seat setup on the current model. The tail section of the motorcycle also appears flat and sleeker than before. The spied model was also seen testing with a saree guard which leads us to believe that it is indeed an India specific test mule.

KTM 390 Adventure – Engine Speculations

Speculation is that the new 390 Adventure will utilise the engine from the 3rd Generation 390 Duke that was launched in India in the recent past. The new engine on the 390 Adventure is likely to be a 399cc liquid-cooled single cylinder motor that will produce around 46 Hp of power. KTM is also likely to offer an updated electronics suite with the new 390 Adventure.

KTM 390 Adventure – Chassis and Suspension

Additionally, KTM is likely to offer a new WP front and rear suspension with the upgraded model. The new suspension is likely to be a fully adjustable unit on the front and at least a preload adjustable rear suspension unit. The rear suspension is also likely to be a  separate piston unit with rebound settings. The chassis on the new 390 Adventure is also likely to be strengthened.
