Kawasaki has launched the 2025 KLX 230 in India at a price of INR 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom). This dual-sport motorcycle is designed for both on-road and off-road adventures.
The KLX 230 is powered by a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces 18.1 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque at 6,400 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, providing smooth and responsive performance. With a top speed of approximately 120 km/h, the KLX 230 is capable of handling both city commutes and off-road escapades with ease.
The KLX 230 features a rugged design with minimal body panels, making it ideal for off-road use. It comes with a high-set mudguard, a stub tail, and a small fuel tank, which enhance its off-road appeal. The bike is available in two colors: Lime Green and Battle Grey.
The bike’s digital LCD display offers essential ride information, including speed, trip details, and fuel level. The display also provides smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to stay connected while on the go. Additionally, the KLX 230 includes switchable ABS, enabling riders to turn off the rear ABS for some sideways fun on off-road trails.
The KLX 230 includes a few additional features that enhance its practicality and usability. It has a fuel capacity of 7.5 liters, ensuring longer rides without frequent refueling stops. The bike’s ground clearance of 300mm allows it to tackle rough terrains and obstacles with ease. The lightweight chassis and ergonomic design make it easy to handle, even for novice riders.
The KLX 230 boasts a 37mm telescopic fork at the front with 240mm of travel and a link-type mono-shock at the rear with 250mm of travel. This suspension setup ensures a smooth and comfortable ride, even on rough terrains. The braking system includes a 265mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, providing reliable stopping power in various conditions. Dual-channel ABS enhances safety by preventing wheel lock-up during sudden braking.
With its impressive features and competitive pricing, the KLX 230 is expected to be a strong contender in the dual-sport segment. It will go up against rivals like the Hero XPulse 200 4V, which is priced significantly lower. Kawasaki hopes to attract adventure enthusiasts with the KLX 230’s blend of performance and versatility. The bike’s launch comes at a time when the demand for dual-sport motorcycles is on the rise, driven by an increasing number of riders seeking adventure and exploration.
