The 2025 Honda Amaze has been spotted undergoing road testing, marking the beginning of a new chapter for this popular compact sedan. The test mule was recently seen on the outskirts of Delhi, heavily camouflaged but revealing enough to spark interest and speculation among car aficionados.
The next-generation Honda Amaze is set to make its global debut by the end of this year, with deliveries expected to commence in January 2025. Despite the camouflage, several key details about the new model have emerged. The overall design appears to retain the boxy silhouette of the current model, but with modern touches that hint at a more refined and contemporary look.
One of the most notable aspects of the new Amaze is its platform. The car is expected to shift to the Honda City’s platform, albeit with a shorter wheelbase to maintain its sub-four-metre length. This change is likely to enhance the car’s stability and handling, providing a more comfortable ride for passengers. The current Amaze’s wheelbase is 2,470mm, significantly shorter than the City’s 2,600 mm.
Under the hood, the new Amaze will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. There are also talks of introducing CNG-powered variants, which could broaden the car’s appeal in markets with a growing demand for alternative fuel options.
The spy shots have also revealed some of the exterior features of the new Amaze. The test mule was equipped with smoked tail-lights, a shark fin antenna, and a reverse camera. Additionally, the car is expected to come with three fixed headrests for the rear passengers, similar to the Honda City. These features suggest that Honda is focusing on enhancing both the aesthetic appeal and the functionality of the new Amaze.
The 2025 Honda Amaze will face stiff competition in the compact sedan segment, particularly from the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura. However, with its updated design, improved platform, and potential new powertrain options, the Amaze is well-positioned to hold its own in this competitive market.
