Tata could be planning to launch the updated Nexon soon in the Indian market. The Nexon SUV competes with the newly launched Mahindra XUV 3XO which currently offers a number of features such as a panoramic sunroof and Level2 ADAS. Tata Motors could update the Nexon with these updates to compete with the 3XO and keep the car relative to the market.
Spyshots of the updated Nexon have also emerged on the internet which reveal that the brand is likely to offer a panoramic sunroof similar to the 3XO. In addition to this, reports also reveal that the new Tata Nexon will come with Level2 ADAS to improve its safety quotient as well as offer comfort features such as adaptive cruise control. Also, the Nexon could come with features such as dual zone climate control. However, the brand already offer ventilated seats which is a miss on the 3XO.
Under the hood, things are likely to remain the same. Powering the Tata Nexon are two engine options. The petrol variant comes with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm torque. The diesel model features a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 113 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque.
When will the updated Nexon arrive is still a question. However, the brand is likely to introduce the car around this festive season. With the updated new features the Mahindra XUV 3XO will not be the SUV with the segment-only features. However, due to its first mover advantage, Mahindra has already garnered a strong sales number of 50,000 bookings in just 60 minutes. Recently, Tata launched a new base variant of the Nexon priced INR 1.1 lakh lower than the existing base model. The new variant was launched after Mahindra launched the XUV 3XO.
