Suzuki has revealed the 4th-generation Swift at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show. The Japanese carmaker is calling it a concept, but visually it looks to be in a production-ready avatar. The hatchback is expected to reach our shores next year.
The new Swift is expected to be launched sometime in 2024. From the images, it is clear that the hatchback gets more of an evolution than an all-new design. The Swift Concept looks aggressive than the current Swift thanks to the prominent character line along the side, new shape bonnet and new grille along with a silver insert in the lower part of the bumper. The S logo sits above the black grille.
At the back, the bumper gets a new design while the tail lamps get revised internals. They now get clear glass lenses. The new Swift rides on new design alloy wheels.
On the inside, the dashboard layout appears familiar and is borrowed from the Fronx and the Grand Vitara. It is finished in a grey and black theme. The Swift Concept is equipped with the 9-inch infotainment system, updated AC controls and the steering wheel from the Grand Vitara.
Suzuki has revealed that the next-gen Swift will come with a slew of safety features. These include the likes of a collision avoidance tech, adaptive high beam and a driver monitoring system.
No details on the engine and transmission options have been revealed by Suzuki. However, the Indian-spec Swift comes with a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine rated at 90 HP and 113 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
In India, the hatchback will come with a CNG option as well.
