Skoda has revealed the official design sketches of the 4th-gen Superb. The coming flagship sedan is more of an evolution that an all-new design. The global debut has been scheduled to take place on November 2, 2023. While both sedan and wagon models are expected to be available, we can only look forward to the sedan variant for India.
The new Skoda Superb follows the Modern Solid theme. At the front, there is a typical Skoda grille, matrix LED headlamps and new LED DRLs. Other updates at the
front include a sharper bumper and more cuts and creases.
From the side, we can see the new Superb folows the outgoing model, but now gets gentler curves and edges. Skoda is likely to offer a choice of alloy wheels. The rear section consists of updates LED tail lamps along with an updated bumper.
On the inside, the Superb will get a revamped dashboard, more tech and better space as well. The flagship sedan now comes with a clean looking dashboard with a large 13-inch touchscreen. Meanwhile, the driver benefits from a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The centre console comes with a triple dial setup with inbuilt screen. This will allow the multifunction operation using the dials.
The 4th-gen Skoda Superb will be available with multiple engine options. These include triple petrol mot ors and a diesel engine with two states of tunes. For the first time, a Superb will feature hybrid powertrain in both mild and strong guises. The Czech carmaker is paining automatic gearboxes with all the engine options. There will be no manual gearboxes on offer.
Skoda might bring the sedan to the Indian shores sometime in 2024. With the rising popularity of the SUV segment, Skoda seems to be one of the few manufacturers still holding on the baton of the sedan offerings.
