2024 Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 spotted in production ready avatar

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Looks like Royal Enfield is soon planning to launch the Scrambler variant of the 650cc platform pretty soon. New spy images have surfaced online which reveal the new Scrambler 650 in a launch-ready guise.

What’s new in the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650?

The spied images reveal a fully uncamouflaged motorbike. Further, the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 looks to be in a production ready form as well. It can be seen that the Scrambler 650 is based on the Interceptor 650. However, Royal Enfield has made some changes to reflect the same. The bike rides on wire spoke rims with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. The tyres are knobby units and the bike also uses upside-down front forks and gets a single side exhaust.

Other features could include full LED lights, a single off-set instrument cluster, long-travel suspension, taller handlebars, an upright seating geometry and more. All these changes are expected to make the Scrambler 650 better off-road.

Royal Enfield 650cc Scrambler with revised rear sub-frame

Unlike other bikes, Royal Enfield has modified its rear subframe. This has ensured that the bike gets a typical scrambler look. The bike comes with a single-seat design and it has a ribbed seat cover.

The seating posture is upright and the riding posture can be described as neutral. Footpeg placement is rear-set which added sportiness to the posture of the rides. The handlebars’ position seems slightly elevated compared to the Hunter 350. Along with the handlebars, the instrument cluster too has moved upwards. A windscreen is missing from the bike, but the production version might be coming with a flyscreen.

Powertrain of the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650

The bike will get the same 648cc parallel-twin engine that develops 46 BHP and 52 Nm of peak torque. It is possible that Royal Enfield might re-tune the engine. This engine will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
