2024 Nissan Magnite facelift pictures leak before debut

Images of the 2024 Nissan Magnite facelift have surfaced online just a day before its official debut. The leaked photos, which appear to have been taken at a dealership, reveal several updates to the popular subcompact SUV, set to be launched on October 4, 2024.

Exterior Enhancements

The 2024 Magnite facelift showcases a refreshed front fascia, featuring a redesigned bumper with a larger silver element that mimics a bull bar. The grille retains its size but now sports a new pattern, flanked by black trim around the chrome elements. The headlights remain similar to the pre-facelift model, continuing with LED projectors and LED turn indicators.

At the rear, the bumper has been slightly redesigned, and the tail lights now feature a clear casing with LED brake lights. The leaked images also reveal a new exterior color, a striking gold or brown shade, which could be the launch color for the facelifted model.

Interior Updates

Inside, the Magnite facelift introduces a playful orange and black interior theme. The dashboard layout remains largely unchanged, but the three-spoke steering wheel now includes gloss black elements for added sportiness. Key features such as auto climate control, rear AC vents, front and rear armrests, cruise control, push-button start, keyless entry, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are expected to continue.

Feature Additions

While the core features remain, there are hopes for additional amenities such as auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated seats, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a 360-degree camera. The safety suite is expected to include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold control, and a 360-degree parking camera with sensors.

Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the 2024 Magnite facelift is likely to retain its existing powertrain options. This includes a 1-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 72 PS and 96 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). Additionally, a more powerful 1-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 100 PS and up to 160 Nm will be available, coupled with a 5-speed MT or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Market Positioning

The Nissan Magnite facelift aims to strengthen its position in the competitive subcompact SUV segment, rivalling models like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Renault Kiger. With these updates, Nissan hopes to attract more buyers and boost sales during the festive season.
