Mercedes-Benz India has further strengthened its already successful GLE SUV portfolio with the introduction of the 2024 GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line. This new variant, which replaces the previous GLE 300d, brings a sportier and more dynamic aesthetic to the table, catering to the increasing demand for AMG-styled vehicles in the Indian market. It has been priced at INR 97.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
The GLE SUV has been Mercedes-Benz’s most successful model in India, with over 22,000 units gracing Indian roads since its debut. The addition of the AMG Line to the GLE 300d is a strategic move by Mercedes-Benz to further enhance the model’s allure, offering customers a vehicle that not only performs exceptionally but also exudes a sportier, more aggressive stance.
AMG Styling
The 2024 GLE 300d AMG Line is all about marrying the ruggedness of an SUV with the sleek, aggressive aesthetics of Mercedes-Benz’s performance-oriented AMG lineup. The exterior design of the GLE 300d AMG Line features a host of AMG-specific enhancements that set it apart from its predecessors.
Key to its new look is the Diamond grille with the Mercedes-Benz pattern in chrome, prominently featuring an integrated Mercedes star and a single louvre painted in dark grey matte, accentuated by chrome inserts and a black frame. The AMG front apron with a chrome trim strip and the sporty air inlets at the front further enhance its bold appearance. The vehicle’s 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, painted in tremolite grey with a high-sheen finish, complete the sporty exterior, making a strong statement even when stationary.
At the rear, the AMG rear apron with diffuser-look inserts in black and a chrome trim strip adds to the vehicle’s athletic stance, while the air outlets on the rear wings and front and rear wing flares painted in the vehicle color contribute to a cohesive and aggressive design language.

Under the hood, the 2024 GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 269 hp and 550 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with the advanced 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, which ensures smooth and responsive gear shifts. Additionally, the SUV benefits from ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) technology, which provides an extra boost of up to 15 kW (20 hp) and 220 Nm of torque, enhancing both performance and efficiency.
This powerful drivetrain allows the GLE 300d AMG Line to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h, making it one of the fastest vehicles in its segment. The larger perforated brake discs at the front axle, part of the AMG Line package, ensure that this performance is matched by equally impressive stopping power, delivering both safety and confidence on the road.
Interior: Cutting-Edge Technology and Comfort
Inside, the GLE 300d AMG Line features the latest generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system. The system, with its advanced hardware and software, offers a more intuitive and connected experience, allowing drivers to control a multitude of vehicle and comfort functions through high-resolution LCD screens with brilliant display views.
The interior ambiance is further elevated by the Burmester surround sound system, which features 13 high-performance speakers delivering 590 watts of rich, immersive audio, ensuring that every journey is accompanied by top-notch sound quality.
