2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will deliver 25.72 kmpl mileage, 9-inch touchscreen inside

Maruti Suzuki has commenced accepting bookings on the upcoming new Maruti Suzuki Swift in the Indian market. While the brand has not revealed the hot-hatch for India, but the Swift is internationally available and was revealed in Japan in 2023. The Swift has been the mainstay for Maruti Suzuki in India since it first arrived here and the popular hatchback has found more than 29 lakh homes in our country.

Maruti Suzuki Swift – Mileage

One reason why the hatchback has been loved by is its mileage. The Swift is not just a stylish hatchback but is feature loaded as well as efficient. Now, reports suggest that the upcoming Swift is likely to be more efficient than ever. Claims are that the new Swift is likely to return an efficiency of 25.72 kmpl which is nearly 3 kmpl more than the predecessor. And all this from a petrol engine, as Maruti Suzuki does not have a diesel powertrain on offer in India.

But, this petrol powertrain is not just any engine. The newly developed Z12E 1.2-litre petrol mild-hybrid engine is likely to come with a manual as well as an automatic transmission option. Suzuki Motor Corporation Japan also revealed in the past that the new Swift has 4.6% less air resistance than its predecessor, which coupled with the new motor is likely to be the reason for the high fuel efficiency.

Maruti Suzuki Swift – Features

In addition to the high mileage, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift is also likely to come with a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system is likely to be coupled with an Arkamys sound system. Also, the new hatchback is likely to get wireless phone charging and rear AC vents.

Maruti Suzuki Swift – Safety

Safety features are likely to include 6-airbags as standard. It is also important to note, that the Japan-spec Swift earned itself a 4-star rating for safety at the stringent Japan NCAP. However, the Japan-spec model comes with Level2 ADAS features as well as high-tensile steel plates and structural adhesives.
