Mahindra is working on a facelift of the XUV300 compact SUV. Slated for 2024 launch, the car could be offered with a panoramic sunroof, making it the first in the segment to offer this feature.
What’s new in the 2024 Mahindra XUV300?
Mahindra is opting to equip the XUV300 with a sunroof due to the strong demand for the same with Indian consumers. Currently, the compact SUV is offered with a smaller, single-pane sunroof. The larger panoramic sunroof will most likely appeal to a larger set of audience. Even today, customers opt for higher variants with sunroofs on many car models.
Other changes on the Mahindra XUV300 Facelift could include front and rear redesign, new headlamps and tail lamps and updated bumpers. Mahindra could draw inspiration from the XUV.e concepts.
On the inside, the 2024 XUV300 could get a major do over. Further, additional features are expected to be introduced as well.
Following its lead, the XUV400 will also get a panoramic sunroof at a later stage. Eventually, Mahindra plans to offer panoramic sunroofs across the entire XUV range.
Mechanical updates to the 2024 Mahindra XUV300
In terms of specifications, the Facelift is likely to retain the current powertrains. These include a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol unit good for 110 HP and 131 HP along with a 115 HP 1.5-litre diesel mill. While an AMT gearbox does duty on the automatic options, it remains to be seen if the Indian carmaker can offer a better automatic option keeping in mind the competition.
Launch timeline and rivals of the Mahindra XUV300
The Mahindra XUV300 will head against the likes of the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Mahindra is planning to launch the XUV300 sometime next year. We can expect a price increase as well due to the additional features. The XUV300 range today is priced between INR 8.42-14.60 lakh, ex-showroom.
