Kia has introduced the 2024 Sonet facelift in the Indian market. The 2024 Kia Sonet SUV features a new colour, exterior updates and upgrades to its safety kit. The most significant upgrade is to the front fascia and the rear section. Along with this, the SUV also comes with new interior features, colour, upholstery as well as Level 1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist Systems) including Automatic Braking.
The new Kia Sonet comes with an aggressive front and rear design including revamped light signatures and bumpers. The rear of the SUV features sportier tail light elements. The Sonet also comes with an updated Tiger Nose grille but new DRLs and headlamps throw emphasis on the wild nature of the SUV. The 2024 Sonet also gets a Star Map LED connected taillamp. Kia has also updated the alloy wheel design for the 2024 Sonet.
On the inside, the Sonet now gets and updated dashboard with new instrumentation and infotainment system. The brand is offering a 10.25-inch full-digital LCD instruments cluster along with 10.25-inch HD infotainment system. Top-end variants also get Bose premium sound system. Features also include Rear Window Curtains, Smart Pure Air Purifier, Sunroof, Ventilated Front Seats, Power Adjustable Driver Seat and more.
The Korean brand offers the SUV in 8 single tone colours, 2 dual tone colours and a matte finish option. Also, among the 8 monotone colours Kia introduced a new Pewter Olive colour option. Kia is also offering three interior colour options as well as seat upholstery patterns. However, the variant line-up on the Sonet remains unchanged.
The 2024 Kia Sonet comes with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems which includes Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance system with pedestrian as well as bicycle detection. This also includes Autonomous Braking in case the car detects an imminent collision. Also, the ADAS package includes Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Leading Vehicle Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning and High Beam Assist.
Kia is offering the Sonet with upto 6 airbags (Front, Side and Curtain) and now a 360-degree camera system is also added to the safety kit. The SUV also gets electronic stability control, hill start assist, vehicle stability management and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Under the hood, the same engine line-up powers the new Sonet. This includes a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine producing 82 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Another, 1-litre turbo-petrol is available with a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT gearbox producing 118 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque.
In addition to this, Kia is also offering a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel option with 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT and 6-speed automatic gearbox options. The oil motor makes 114 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The SUV also gets Driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sports as well as Traction Modes – Sand, Mud and Wet.
The pricing of the 2024 Kia Sonet will be announced in January 2024.
