Kia could be planning to bring the EV9 electric SUV to the Indian market. The 2024 Kia EV9 is currently on road tests as seen in spy shots. The Kia EV9 test mule, spotted sans camouflage leads us to believe that the EV could be creeping close to its date. Possibly the company is making final evaluations on the EV9. The 2024 Kia EV9 electric SUV features all-LED lighting, a blank grille and vertical LED light signatures. The SUV also comes with squared-wheel arches and 21-inch alloy wheels. The electric SUV also comes with wide digital screens and three-row seating.
2024 Kia EV9 – Price
In the United States, the 2024 Kia EV9 comes with a starting price of USD 54,900 MSRP. This converts to INR 45.60 lakh, at exchange rates with mid-market rates. However, the Government of India levies 100% import duty on electric vehicles coming to India as Completely Built-up Units with value over USD 40,000. This could take the price of the 2024 EV9 electric SUV somewhere between INR 90 lakh and INR 1.2 crores ex-showroom.
2024 Kia EV9 – Technical Specifications
In the international market, Kia EV9 EV comes with three powertrain options. The Kia EV9 is based on the E-GMP platform. The EV9 comes with a rear wheel drive (RWD) 76.1 kWh battery. The EV comes with a 215 HP Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). This combination offers a range of 315 km on a single charge with a drive battery voltage of 632V.
The RWD Long Range model comes with a 99.8 kWh battery pack and 201 HP PMSM with 552 V drive battery voltage. This configuration offers range of 541 km on a single charge. In addition to this, the Kia EV9 also comes with a more powerful 379 HP PMSM with all-wheel drive setup. The battery pack on the AWD variant is the same 99.8 kWh and offers a range of around 450 km on a single charge.
