Kia could be planning to introduce the 2024 Kia Carnival in the Indian market. The brand had revealed the latest-generation Kia Carnival in India at the 2023 Auto Expo, and hinted at the biennial event that the luxury MPV will make its debut close to the festive season of 2024. Now, an example of the 2024 Kia Carnival has been spotted at the Delhi Airport sans camouflage. Also, reports suggest that the new Carnival is likely to make its debut in the first week of October.
Reports reveal that the new Kia Carnival, which was revealed in India as the KA4 at the Auto Expo is likely to come here via the Completely Built Up Unit (CBU) route. The more expensive route is likely to bump its price in the range of INR 50 Lakh ex-showroom. However, judging its demand the brand is also likely to commence local assembly of the Carnival in India next year.
The Kia Carnival is available in multiple engine and gearbox options in the international markets. However, speculation is that the brand will only offer the Carnival in India with a single engine and gearbox choice. This will help the brand streamline its variant line up and as it may come as a CBU the less popular trims are unlikely to remain unsold. Kia is likely to offer the Carnival with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 202 Hp of power and 440 Nm of torque. This engine is likely to come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
At present, the Kia Carnival sits in a unique segment and does not have any direct competitors in the price range. Other than the Kia Carnival, Toyota offers the Vellfire and the Lexus LM that start at INR 1.22 Crore and INR 2 Crore ex-showroom, respectively.
