Husqvarna Motorcycles launched the brand new Svartpilen 401 in the Indian market. Patrons can book ‘the black arrow’ in India from 400+ KTM-Husqvarna Motorcycles authorised dealers. Deliveries of the Svartpilen 401 is expected to commence from the end of January onwards. But before that, we got the chance to road test the 2024 Husqvarna 401 bringing you all the details of the scrambler style motorcycle.
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 comes with a single Silver Grey colour in the Indian market. The colour comes with a combination of black chassis and gunmetal on the engine covers. The Silver Grey colourway also comes with a “401” badging on the side in large lettering as well as fluorescent yellow accents. In the Indian market, the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 comes with a price tag of INR 2.92 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
Powering the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is the latest LC4C (Liquid-Cooled 4-valve Compact) engine from KTM. The latest generation engine is a 398.63cc single-cylinder DOHC engine with liquid cooling using a curved radiator and dual fans. The engine produces 46 PS of power and 39 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox with Quickshifter+.
The Svartpilen 401 comes with a new steel trellis frame and subframe. It gets 43mm adjustable WP Apex upside down front forks and WP Apex monoshock with preload adjustment. The motorcycle comes with 320mm rotors with 4-piston ByBre callipers and Sintered Brake Pads on the front a 240mm disc on the rear. The Svartpilen 401 also comes with SuperMoto ABS (Dual Channel).
Husqvarna offers the Svartpilen 401 modern-scrambler with 17-inch spoke wheels on the front and rear. But, the highlight is 110/70 front and 150/60 rear Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. The block pattern dual purpose tyres are capable of doing duty on both tarmac as well as loose surfaces. The Svartpilen 401 comes with a 820mm seat height, 177mm of ground clearance and 1368mm of wheelbase. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 also comes with 13.5-litre of fuel tank and 171.2 kg of weight at the kerb.

Along with the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, the brand also launched the new Vitpilen 250. The ‘white arrow’ comes with a price tag of INR 2.19 lakh ex-showroom and only a White colourway. The modern roadster has got a complete overhaul and major improvements including a much more comfortable riding posture, thanks to the new straight handlebar instead of clip-ons. The new handlebar also claims to have reduced the steering weight and improved the agility of the motorcycle.
The Vitpilen 250 also comes with a new-generation engine and chassis. The new 250cc LC4C engine that makes 31 PS of power and 25 Nm of torque. Also, the suspension, brakes and electronics on the motorcycle are improved, compared to the previous generation Vitpilen 250 sold in India. Husqvarna is also offering a number of new features including a new 5-inch LCD display. The brand has also made improvement to the fuel capacity, ground clearance, rider seat height, pillion seat height, overall seat length and its kerb weight.
