2024 Honda CB300F flex-fuel launched in India at INR 1,70,000

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the 2024 Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel, marking a significant milestone in India’s shift towards greener mobility solutions. Priced at INR 1,70,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the CB300F Flex-Fuel is India’s first 300cc flex-fuel motorcycle, capable of running on E85 fuel—a blend that includes up to 85 percent ethanol.

Design and Features

The CB300F Flex-Fuel retains the same design as the standard CB300F model, featuring a sharp front profile with an LED headlight, muscular bodywork, and a digital instrument console. The flex-fuel variant also gets exclusive colours – Mat Axis Grey and Sports Red.. The Flex-Fuel variant is equipped with the same 293.5cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine, producing 24.5 bhp and 25.9 Nm of torque. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox, ensuring smooth and efficient power delivery.

It gets beefy front USD forks painted in gold while the rear gets a monoshock. Both wheels are equipped with a single disc. For safety, the motorcycle is equipped with ABS and traction control.

Market Impact and Customer Reception

The launch of the CB300F Flex-Fuel is expected to attract environmentally conscious riders who are looking for more sustainable transportation options. The bike’s ability to run on E85 fuel not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also helps lower the oil import bill and supports the agricultural sector by increasing demand for ethanol. This is also in-line with India’s goal to completely move to E85 fuel by 2030.

Conclusion

Honda is the first to produce a mas market motorcycle that would run on flex-fuel. However, the benefit of the lower costing E85 will be available to the consumers only after there are enough fuel stations that sell E85 fuel. Meanwhile, the CB300 can run on the regular fuel and E20 fuel that is currently available at every fuel station. We are sure after this first move from Honda, other manufacturers too will follow suit and launch updated versions of their E85 compliant models.
