2024 Hero MotoCorp Xpulse 400 continues road testing, now with KTM 390 ADV

Looks like Hero MotoCorp is now benchmark testing the Xpulse 400. The adventure bike was recently spotted alongside the KTM 390 Adventure in Jaipur.

Hero Xpulse 400 adventure bike : More Details

It is widely known that Hero MotoCorp has been working on a larger Xpulse bike for a while now. An early prototype of the Xpulse 420 was showcased some years back, but there has not been any update since then. The bike’s smaller sibling, the Xpulse 200 is well known in the Adv segment. Its high points include ride quality, fuel economy and its engine. The larger Xpulse 420 will want to build up on these.

The test mule looking bigger than the current Xpulse in all dimensions. However it maintained the proportions throughout. The rear section, along with the exhaust added quite a bit of heft overall to the adventure bike.

Hero MotoCorp recently had a national dealers conference. One of the talking points was the new Xpulse 420. According to officials present, the timeline for the same has been pushed forward by one year. Hero wants to make certain that this adventure bike meets all the quality standards before launch. The company doesn’t want to launch a half-baked product. At present, the Research and Development team is currently working on some issues that have come up.

Hero Xpulse 400 target customer

According to Hero, this motorbike will not only offer an upgrade opportunity to current Xpulse 200 buyers but also bring in fresh customers for the 200-400cc Adventure bike segment. At present, the main players in the segment are the Royal Enfield 411, KTM 390 Adventure and the BMW G310GS.

Price and launch timeline of the Xpulse 400

Hero might be planning an India in sometime next year. In terms of pricing, we can expect the adventure bike to cost around INR 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and other such bikes.
