Hero MotoCorp sold 1,000 Harley-Davidson X440 via 100 dealerships, new bookings open

Hero MotoCorp commenced deliveries of the highly anticipated Harley-Davidson X440 from 15 October 2023. Now, the bike maker has announced that over 1,000 units have been delivered to customers from 100 dealerships. Furthermore, the company will first deliver the bikes to the first lot customers, ~25,000 who had booked in the initial period. According to Hero, the company expects to deliver all these bikes in the next 4-5 months.

The Harley-Davidson X440 is available in three variants – Denim, Vivid and S at a price of INR 2,39,500, INR 2,59,500 and INR 2,79,500 respectively. The bike is manufactured at Hero’s Neemrana plant.

Harley-Davidson X440 : More Details

The entry level variant Denim is offered in Mustard Denim paint shade. It gets a yellow painted fuel tank with the rest of the bike finished in black. The bike rides on tube tyres shod on wire-spoke wheels.

The mid-sped Vivid trim gets two colours – Metallic Thick Red and Metallic Dark Silver. Harley is offering alloy wheels on the Vivid trim.

The top-end S variant comes in a lone Matte Black colour. It gets machined alloys, 3D decals and most importantly connected features including smartphone connectivity. Other features include maps support using turn-by-turn navigation, phone and SMS alerts and music control.

All variants of the Harley-Davidson X440 are equipped with a 3.5-inch TFT screen, full-LED lighting, and dual-channel ABS for safety.

In terms of the powertrain, the X440 uses a 440cc, single-cylinder engine. This motor produces 27 BHP of power and 38 Nm of torque. The engine uses a six-speed gearbox.

Harley-Davidson & Hero MotoCorp have jointly developed and launched the X440 cruiser motorcycle in India. This is the most affordable Harley-Davidson motorcycle to be sold worldwide, and it will be available in 3 variants.

While the bike has been launched in India, production has commenced only September 2023. The bike will be made at Hero’s Neemrana plant in Rajasthan. Hero also undertook capacity expansion at the Rajasthan plant before the production of the X440.
