2024 BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS adventure bike revealed in spy shots

Images of what appears to be the 2024 BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS have surfaced online. These images were retrieved from the type approval document filed in Australia. The bike in the images looks like a production-ready version.

2024 BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS : More Details

The bike now looks more sleek and clean. The 2024 BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS gets a new headlamp design. It no longer gets an asymmetrical headlamp like the other BMW Adventure bikes. The headlamp gets LED as well. The R 1300 GS also gets a clear visor. This along with the beak at the front get a slightly aggressive design. BMW could also offer a radar-based cruise control system on the R 1300 GS.

In terms of hardware, the bike gets Upside-down front forks, front telelever and a paralever at the back. Braking duties are handled by dual discs at the front and a single disk at the back. The bike gets dual-channel ABS.

Other features include all-LED lights, ABS, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring and more. The rider will also benefit from an all-digital display that has GPS navigation, ride modes, traction control and more.

BMW has equipped the bike with alloy wheels, but as an adventure bike, the R1300 GS could get wire spoke rims as optional.

Powertrain of the 2024 BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS

The BMW R 1300 GS comes with a 1,300cc boxer engine. This twin-cylinder unit develops 143 BHP and 143 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. BMW is likely to offer a quickshifter as well. Uniquely, BMW has opted for a shaft drive instead of the usual chain drive.

Launch and delivery timeline of the BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS

The adventure bike is set for an unveiling on 28 September 2023. Initially it is likely to debut in European countries followed by other International markets. BMW could also launch the bike in India.
