BMW has launched the all-new 5-Series Long Wheelbase in the Indian market at the price of INR 72.90 lakh ex-showroom. The brand also announced that the BMW bookings for the BMW 5-Series LWB are now open in the Indian market from all BMW dealerships in India as well as through BMW’s online sales channels. BMW India also revealed that the deliveries of the new 5-Series will commence from September 2024.
The new BMW 5-Series LWB business sedan which is now in its 8th-generation is now 212mm longer than before. In addition to the long wheelbase, the 5-Series is also sporty and comes with a 2-box design and is the longest car in its segment. In its latest avatar, the BMW 5-Series LWB measures 5165mm in length, 1900mm in width, and 1518mm in height and a wheelbase 3105mm.
The BMW 5-Series comes with a new Sharknose design but retains the BMW Kidney grille. The fascia is also enahanced by the four-eyed headlamp design and L-shaped tail lamps. The car also gets a new Hofmeister kink on the C-pillar and BMW Iconic glow on the grille.
On the inside, the BMW 5-series comes with BMW Curved Display, a combination of the 12.3-inch instruments panel and 14.9-inch infotainment display powered by BMW Operating System OS 8.5 featuring intuitive features. The car also features crystal-cut Shifter and Infotainment controller on the centre console.
The 5-Series also comes with a new interaction bar on the dashboard which is a backlit bar and looks like a piece of jewellery. The BMW 5-Series LWB interaction bar also integrates well with the air vents. The car also gets a newly designed steering wheel and full vegan interior. The car also gets a 655W Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System.
Powering the BMW 5-Series LWB is a 2.0-litre BMW Twin Power Turbo petrol engine with 48V mild hybrid system producing around 255 Hp of power and is capable of achieving 0-100 Kmph in just 6.5 seconds.
