Triumph has unveiled the 2023 range of the Street Triple family. These include the Street Triple R, Street Triple RS and Street Triple Moto 2 Edition. Amongst these, the Street Triple Moto 2 is what catches our eye.
Street Triple already has a cult following amongst its fans. It’s one of the maddest bikes on sale today. With high performance already, Triumph has gone ahead further and made the bike even madder. It gets more power, technology upgradation, track tuned suspension, and more.
To celebrate the presence of Triumph in the Moto 2 series, the bike maker has launched the Street Triple Moto 2 Edition. Triumph is the sole engine supplier in the racing series. Success in the Moto 2 means that the next level – Moto GP is not very far away.
Only 765 units will be produced – the number is equal to the cubic capacity of the engine in the bike. The bike gets new graphics, with a Moto 2 livery in two very bright colours. It rides on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 track-ready tyres. In terms of suspension and chassis, the bike gets a track-tuned and fully adjustable Öhlins suspension and a carbon fibre chassis. Race derived tech like cornering ABS and switchable cornering traction control is also offered. It gets a full colour 5-inch colour TFT display. Other rider aids include front wheel lift control. The updates have also made the bike more agile and precise handler.
In terms of power, all the Moto 2 get an upgraded 765cc triple engine. The Street Triple Moto 2 makes 130 PS and a maximum torque developed of 80 Nm. Braking duties are handled by Brembo Stylema brakes on the RS and the Moto2.
The updated Triumph Speed Triple range is expected to be available in 2023 internationally. That said, details about when the bikes would be launched in India are not yet available. Once launched here, the 2023 Triumph Street Triple rival the likes of Ducati Monster and the Kawasaki Z900.
