2023 Triumph Speed 400 for India – All Details & Photo Gallery

Triumph has finally taken the wraps off the highly anticipated bikes for India. Developed in collaboration with Bajaj, these are two bikes that are expected to be the most affordable Triumph motorcycles. The first amongst them is the Triumph Speed 400. Let us take a look at the bike in depth.

Triumph Speed 400 : More Details

The Speed 400 will be made in India. This is a very good looking bike with modern design elements. We can also note some resemblance with the Speed Twin 900.

In terms of dimensions, the new Triumph Speed 400 measures 2,056 mm in length, 795 mm in width and 1,075 mm in height. The bike gets a 1,377 mm long wheelbase and the seat height is set at 790 mm. The kerb weight of Speed 400 is 170 kg.

Triumph has offered a host of features on the new bike. These include the likes of ride-by-wire, all-LED lighting set-up, switchable traction control and more. The rider is aided by a semi-digital instrument cluster. The information displayed here includes dual odometers, fuel level, gear indicator and more. Additionally, to keep the rider’s phone or any other accessory charged, there is a USB C port as well.

Hardware of the Triumph Speed 400

The Triumph Speed 400 is equipped with a 43 mm big piston suspension with 140 mm of travel at the front and a rear mono shock. The rear unit gets preload adjustment. The bike comes with 17-inch alloys.

Braking duties are handled by a 300mm disc with quad-piston callipers at the front. At the back, there is a 230 mm disc. Triumph offers dual-channel ABS as standard.

Powertrain of the Triumph Speed 400

Triumph offers a 398cc liquid cooled motor on the Triumph Speed 400. This engine develops 39.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 37.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel using a 6-speed gearbox.
