2023 Tata Nexon Facelift Review (ICE)

Tata Motors has just launched the 2023 Nexon in India. This compact SUV has been one of the top sellers for the Indian carmaker and hence, Tata has put in a good effort in its facelift. The facelift version of the Nexon starts from INR 8.10 lakh and goes all the way to INR 13.0 lakh, ex-showroom.

2023 Tata Nexon : Design Details

While the Nexon facelift is overall an evolution of the vehicle, Tata has significantly worked on both the interiors and exteriors. On the outside, the design is inspired from the Curvv concept. Many elements like the new fascia, slim grille, split headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs are incorporated based on the concept.

The main beam lights are positioned in the bumper. Towards the back, Tata has extensively tweaked the rear design. The Nexon facelift comes with new LED tail lamps and these are connected by an LED light bar as well. The SUV rides on new dual-tone alloys.

On the inside, there is similarity with the Curvv Concept as well. There is a minimalist dashboard with an infotainment system and limited physical buttons. The driver gets a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo in the middle. There is a digital instrument cluster as well.

Some of the features on the car include ventilated front seats, sunroof, air purifier, 360 degree camera, wireless charger and more. Tata has also revised the HVAC console. It looks very different from the current Tata car’s AC controls. It is apparent that Nexon will be the first car to get this fresh control panel. It has a hybrid touch-sensitive interface.

Powertrain options on the 2023 Tata Nexon Facelift

For the Nexon Facelift, Tata is offering a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. Alongside, the 1.5-litre diesel unit is retained as well. The petrol is good for 118 BHP and 170 Nm, while the diesel is rated at 113 BHP and 260 Nm. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission on the petrol. Meanwhile, customers opting for the diesel can choose from 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT.
