Tata is working on a brand new Nexon. The 2023 model of the Tata Nexon is expected to receive a host of changes including new cosmetic changes, interior makeover and a host of features. One of these updates includes a new design steering wheel.
The leaked images of the steering wheel reveal a two-spoke design as seen on the Tata Curvv concept showcased earlier. The middle portion of the steering wheel gets a rectangular piece finished in black. There are buttons on either side.
It is said that the middle portion could be a screen or might house an illuminated Tata logo. This is fortified by the fact that there is no traditional logo anywhere on the steering.
The Tata Nexon is currently the highest selling model in the Indian carmaker’s line-up. Apart from the petrol and diesel powertrains, Tata also offers two all-electric versions of the compact SUV.
The March sales numbers reveal a sales figure of 14,000 units for the Nexon. This means, the SUV contributed to almost a third of the total sales. Furthermore, the last time Tata updated the Nexon was almost 3 years ago. This means that a refreshed Nexon is pretty much underway for this year.
Back at the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata showcased a new 1.2-liter petrol engine. This unit is a direct injector turbo petrol that develops 125 HP and 225 Nm. Tata could offer this in the new Nexon Facelift.
Tata is also likely to continue with the existing 1.5-liter diesel that churns out 115 HP and 260 Nm of torque.
The refreshed Tata Nexon will get a new modern, sharper exterior with a split headlamp design. There could be an LED light bar across the front end as well. The rear could house new slim-design LED tail lamps.
On the inside, the car is expected to come with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Alongside, we can also expect a digital instrument cluster.
