Tata Motors has started off with the bookings for the Altroz CNG. Interested customers can book their interest by paying a token amount of INR 21,000. We first saw the Altroz CNG at the Auto Expo 2023 in January. As it stands, the pricing is not yet out.
Tata Motors currently retails a total of 15 variants of the Altroz. As per sources, a total of six variants could get CNG out of which three of them – the XM+ (S), XZ+ (S) and XZ+ O (S) will get a sunroof. Other key features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen, digital driver’s display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an engine start/stop button, 16-inch alloy wheels16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, height adjustable driver’s seat, rear AC vents and a front centre armrest, leatherette seats In terms of safety features, the Altroz benefits from six airbags, ABS with EBD and stability control.
Tata Motors has fixed up the boot space in the Altroz CNG. They have split the single CNG tank into two smaller tanks. This structure has allowed the boot to retain a good amount of space. But one downside due to this tank positioning is that there is no spare tyre offered. So, Tata Motors instead is offering a puncture repair kit along with an air pump.
The Altroz uses Tata Motors’ 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that’s mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. As it stands, there is no automatic gearbox on offer just as of yet. When running on petrol, this motor makes 86 HP and 113 Nm of torque. While in CNG mode, it puts out 77 HP and 97 Nm of torque. The Tiago and Tigor both offer a claimed fuel economy of 26.49km/kg. And thus we are expecting the Altroz to have similar figures as well.
