2023 Škoda Kushaq Lava Blue Edition launched in India at INR 17.99 lakh

Skoda has just launched the 2023 Kushaq Lava Blue Edition with prices starting at INR 17.99 lakh for the 1.5 TSI MT variant and INR 19.19 lakh for the 1.5 TSI DSG AT variant. This is part of Skoda’s refresh strategy for 2023, so that their existing range of products stay relevant amidst increasing competition. This new 2023 Skoda Kushaq Lava Blue Edition is positioned above the current style trim and this new premium blue lava shade is now making a debut on the India 2.0 cars, after it was seen on the Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq. Also, Skoda has announced that their current range on sale is compliant with the new RDE emission norms and can run on E20 ethanol blend fuel as well.

Skoda’s Kushaq SUV has also scored top 5-star crash test rating from Global NCAP.

2023 Skoda Kushaq Lava Blue Edition Features

First, the Kushaq now gets this new lava blue paint scheme. This is Skoda’s signature blue paint option. This new Kushaq edition is slotting between the Style & Monte Carlo trims. Features include front and rear mud flaps, chrome accents on front grile, chrome finish on the lower section of doors, chrome garnish on tailgate, ‘Edition’ branding on the B-pillar of the Kushaq, Kushaq branded scuff plates, special themed textile mats & cushion pillows, Edition branding on the pillows, puddle lamp with Skoda logo projection on each door, and all the existing features as per the variant lineup.

Skoda’s new Kushaq SUV is now E20 ethanol fuel blend ready and also meets the upcoming RDE emission norms. Skoda claims that the Kushaq will now deliver 7% extra fuel efficiency. Powering this safe SUV is a 1.5L, turbocharged, 4-cylinder, TSI EVO motor producing 250 Nm of torque and 110 kW of power matched to either the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual for the enthusiasts. The motor comes with segment best cylinder deactivation tech, which results in 2 cylinders being shut when the engine is not under load, hence delivering better mileage. The TSI EVO motor also gets plasma coated cylinder liners & cylinder heads for better heat management and optimum engine performance.

Skoda’s Kushaq SUV was first launched in July 2021. It also comes with a 1.0L TSI turbocharged petrol motor for the entry-level variants. Based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, the Skoda Kushaq is also a badge engineered sibling to the Volkswagen Taigun in India. The Skoda Kushaq also shares quite a few parts with its sibling, the Slavia sedan.
