Royal Enfield at the ‘Motoverse’ 2023, formerly known as the ‘Rider Mania’, introduced the Shotgun 650. The unveiled model was the Shotgun 650 “Motoverse edition”. However, the brand has now announced the production version of the RE Shotgun 650. The global market launch of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will be early next year, reveals Royal Enfield. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 utilises the latest Royal Enfield 650-Twin platform.
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 takes its design cues from the SG650 Concept. The brand revealed the SG650 concept at the 2021 EICMA with offered a retro-futuristic look. Royal Enfield also says that the Shotgun 650 design pays homage to the culture of customisation.
In its production avatar, the Shotgun 650 will be available in four colour themes – Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill and Sheet Metal Grey. The Shotgun 650 comes with features such as an off-set dash and mid-set footage position. The bike also offers a low 795mm seat height and intuitive handlebar position. The Shotgun 650 also gets a LED headlamp nestled in a contemporary nacelle digital-analogue instrument cluster and Tripper navigation.
According to Royal Enfield, the Shotgun 650 will act as a blank canvas for riders who would like to customise and personalise the motorcycle. The brand is offering an all-metal construction making it highly preferable in hand of a custom-house. Thanks to this, each motorcycle can possibly become unique and synonymous with its rider telling a different story. The Shotgun 650 will also compliment the custom builder ecosystem, thanks to its openness to accept personalisation.
Powering the Shotgun 650 is a 650cc parallel twin-cylinder air-oil-cooled engine. The engine produces 46 Hp of power and 52 Nm of torque. Mechanical bits include 43mm diameter separate function big piston Showa forks on the front and twin tube 5-step preload adjustable rear suspension unit.
The bike comes with 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. Also the 1465mm wheelbase claims to offer a low centre of gravity allowing ease of ride in traffic as well as stability on the highways. The brand also claims that the Shotgun 650 is equally fun in twisty mountain roads. Thanks to the 320mm disc on the front and a 300mm disc brake on the rear braking is likely to be crisp.
