2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 450 spotted testing

When reports came in that Royal Enfield was working on a more potent and capable version of the Himalayan, it was obvious the model would also spawn a Scram model. And it turned out to be true. Both the Himalayan 450 and Himalayan Scram 450 continue testing on Indian roads as well as internationally. And now, new spy shots of the road-biased Himalayan Scram 450 have surfaced online.

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 450 Spy Shots – What Do We See?

The 2023 Himalayan Scram 450 will continue to sport a retro theme. This is evident from the round headlight, round rear view mirrors and the teardrop-shaped fuel tank. Though not visible in the spy shots, it will most likely get a circular instrument cluster, similar to the new Hunter 350 Metro. Unlike the Himalayan 450, the Scram will get minimum body panels. Also, unlike the adventure-focused Himalayan 450, the Himalayan Scram 450 will not get racks close to the fuel tank. The Himalayan Scram 450 also uses a single-piece seat, unlike the Himalayan 450’s split seat.

From the side profile, we see it will get fork gaiters, a long wheelbase, a sporty-looking tail section and disc brakes at both ends. Furthermore, the seat height looks pretty low. Combined with the centrally-mounted footpegs and pulled-back handlebar means, it will offer comfortable riding ergonomics. As the Himalayan Scram 450 will be road-biased, it gets a wide rear tyre for better on-road performance. Another interesting design element at the rear is turn-signal mounted stop-lights. Thus, there will not be circular or rectangular taillight.

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 450 – What Do We Know?

The lack of luggage carrying equipment on the road-focused Himalayan Scram 450 will make it much lighter than the Himalayan 450. Furthermore, this will also result in a higher power-to-weight ratio. Both the new Royal Enfield 450s will use the same mill. Royal Enfield might also possibly tweak the Himalayan Scram 450’s engine to suit its character.

According to reports, Royal Enfield will likely unveil the Himalayan 450 in the first quarter of 2023. Meanwhile, the Himalayan Scram 450 will come in a few months later. Like the current Scram 411, the bigger Scram will offer a road-biased option for those who prefer riding on the roads than off them.
